Webmaster Forums and Boards

Webmaster forums can be a great place to be a member off. For a start it is a community of your peers. It can be a bit isolating work online from home alone. Even if you feel that your not interested in the social aspect-think about it. If you work in an office, you will allways hear all the latest buzz about what is going on/changing/improving/or the lattest concepts for your industry in the genral office chatter. A webmaster forum prvides the same-even if remotly. Some forums can be very unwelcoming and 'clicky' go introduce yourself and tread lightly and carefully. Don't burst in with your first post promoting your site/biz and asking for help. mentaurs or friendship. Take it slowly and easy does it.

Having said that some webmaster forums are un-friendly, some are not. Many are filled with extremly nice, expert and helpfull people. Stuck with php, a script or can't find a sponsor? One post on the right board can get you all you need. Some webmaster boards offer tutorials too. So go read them!

Forums for webmaster often allow you to place a links to your site/sites in your signature. This can help by getting you noticed in the search engines as the SE'S will probably spider them frequently, and may even provide traffic, and one way links to your site also. You don't think it's really only webmaster and not surfers who read these boards do you?

If you become a regular and accepted on a webmaster board-they become excellent places to find link trades etc for your sites.

They can also be very entertaining, filled with jokes, news, dram, offers, sponsors, as well as some pretty nice tips and helpfull folk too!
